Smile, it's easy to find an NHS dentist in Enfield
NHS Dental services in Enfield leaflet
Dentists provide regular check ups on your teeth and gums. Part of their work involves teaching people to look after their teeth and gums in order to prevent problems. It also includes restoration of teeth damaged or lost by decay, trauma or other reasons, using a wide variety of techniques and materials.
Dental practices can take private and NHS patients, and most practices take a mixture of both. It is important to ring your Dentist to confirm the services that they provide and to make appointments.
Cost of Dental Treatment
NHS dental checks and treatment are free for:
- children under 16
- young people under 19 in full time education
- pregnant women and mothers with babies under one year
- people receiving income support, job seeker's income based allowance but not receiving support from Social Services
- people with the HC2 exemption certificate
Everyone else has to pay for treatment. However NHS treatment is much cheaper than private treatment. Before you have any treatment from a dentist you should understand what is planned and how much you will have to pay.
Not all treatments are available on the NHS, especially cosmetic work.
This leaflet will give you information about NHS Dentistry in England.
